Different Types Of Fish Food

  1. Pellets: Most commonly used fish food in aquaponics, it is convenient and versatile because it is easy to store, transport, and distribute to fish. Pellets usually sink in water and comes in different shapes and sizes, as well different protein and fat content. Some pellets are specially formulated for specific species of fish.
  2. Flakes: Flakes are easy to digest, making them suitable for smaller fish. One of the main problems with flakes is it can quickly disintegrate in water, causing an
accumulation of uneaten food particles in the system.
  3. Live Food: Worms, insects, and brine shrimp can be used as feed, as they are an excellent source of protein and nutrition. It can be challenging to store, transport, and distribute, making them less convenient than other fish food options.
